01 Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: name, email, password, and profile information when you create an account.
• Billing information: handled by our payment processor; we receive limited details such as plan, billing status, and the last four digits of your card. We do not store full card numbers.
• Support & communications: messages you send us and your preferences.

Information from connected platforms

ReelShift connects to other services only when you choose to link them, and only asks for the permissions each feature needs.

• Stream sources (Twitch, Kick, YouTube, TikTok): the channel you point us at and the live or recorded video we process to create clips.
• Posting accounts (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram): an authorization token, your account or channel ID, handle, display name, and profile picture, so we can show which account is linked and publish the clips you schedule.
• Delivery destinations (Google Drive, Discord, Telegram): an authorization token or webhook for the folder, channel, or chat you chose, plus its name, so new clips can be sent there.

Authorization tokens are stored encrypted on our servers and are never sent to your browser. Disconnecting a service in your dashboard deletes its token.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: features used, clips generated, and interactions with the Service.
• Device & log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and timestamps.
• Cookies: see Section 06.

02 How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including detecting moments and generating clips.
• To process your subscription, payments, and account management.
• To improve and develop new features, including training and tuning our clip-detection models on content we are permitted to use.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support.
• To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations.

03 Stream & clip content

To deliver real-time clipping, we process your live stream or uploaded video. This processing is automated and used to detect highlights, generate captions, and reframe footage.

• Your content stays yours. You retain ownership of your streams and the clips you create.
• We store generated clips and the source segments needed to produce them for as long as your account needs them, subject to Section 07.
• We do not sell your stream content. Clips only leave ReelShift when you act: when you download them, schedule a post to an account you linked, or connect a delivery destination that you asked to receive new clips automatically.

04 When we share data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers: vendors who act on our instructions, currently Supabase (database, authentication, and clip storage), Vercel (website hosting), RunPod (GPU video processing), Stripe (payments), and Plausible (privacy-friendly analytics).
• Connected platforms: when you schedule a post to YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, or connect Google Drive, Discord, or Telegram to receive clips. Once a clip is on one of those platforms, their privacy policy governs it.
• Legal & safety: where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

05 Google & YouTube API Services

ReelShift uses YouTube API Services to publish clips to the YouTube channel you connect, and Google APIs to save clips to the Google Drive folder you connect. By using these features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

• What we store: an authorization token for the permission you granted, your YouTube channel ID, name, and profile picture, and the ID of the Drive folder ReelShift created. Tokens are refreshed automatically so your connection keeps working. We do not store your YouTube videos, subscriptions, or any Drive files other than the ones ReelShift itself creates.
• How we use it: only to upload the clips you schedule and to save clips to your folder. We never use Google data for advertising, and no person at ReelShift reads it except to investigate a problem you report.
• Revoking access: disconnect the account in your dashboard, which deletes the stored token, or revoke ReelShift directly from your Google security settings.

ReelShift's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

06 Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. For analytics we use Plausible, which is cookie-free and does not track you across sites; we run no advertising trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though signing in will not work without them.

07 Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Disconnecting a platform deletes its authorization token immediately. Deleting a clip removes it from our storage, but copies you already posted or delivered elsewhere remain on those platforms until you remove them there. We may retain certain data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 08.

08 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have specific rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To exercise any right, contact us at the email in Section 12. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

09 Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10 Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
